Red Bull driver Sergio Perez has dropped a big hint that the only remaining top seat for the 2023 Formula 1 season has been tied up, in the wake of his victory at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Among the teams currently running in the top three in this year’s constructors’ championship, only the second Red Bull seat is not accounted for.
Max Verstappen has a long-term deal with the team, while Ferrari pair Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are both signed until 2024.

At Mercedes, both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are signed for next season.
That leaves the identity of Verstappen’s teammate the only real mystery, but a conversation between Perez and team boss Christian Horner appears to suggest the Mexican will be staying for a third season at Red Bull.
“I probably signed too early,” Perez said, seemingly unaware a nearby microphone was broadcasting the comment to the world, perhaps suggesting that his asking price might have increased following his Monaco victory.
Perez is just 15 points behind Verstappen in the title race, and six points adrift of second-placed Leclerc.
Asked about his contract situation in the post-race media conference, Perez attempted to deflect attention away from his contract situation.
“I meant about the bottle of champagne,” he said with a smile. “We’ll find out.”
Speaking before the Monaco race, Horner made it clear the team is keen to retain Perez.
“He’s doing a great job, we are very happy with him. He’s driven extremely well so far this year.
“He’s driven some great races and is a team player. I don’t think there’s anyone better in the pit lane. So he’s doing a great job, he needs to keep doing what he’s doing and then talks should hopefully be reasonably straightforward.”
