Metal Gear Solid Delta is the New Title for the MGS3 Remake, Original Trilogy Also Returning

Note: This is a developing story. More information on the Metal Gear Solid Delta remake will be added soon.

Sony has managed to keep information regarding today’s PlayStation Showcase surprisingly locked down, but one thing that did slip out early (and has been rumored in one form or another for years) was a possible remake of the fan-favorite Metal Gear Solid 3. Well, the PlayStation Showcase has arrived and the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake has been confirmed, under a new title — Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Why Konami has opted to change the title isn’t entirely clear at this juncture.

The teaser trailer or Metal Gear Solid Delta focused on multiple animals (ants, a frog, a bird, and a crocodile) eating each other in a jungle setting, only confirming Snake and the game’s title at the very end. While strictly cinematic, it certainly looks like a lot of money is being pumped into this remake. You can check out the teaser trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta, below.

Sony and Konami have also confirmed the original Metal Gear Solid trilogy will also be coming to PS5 sometime this autumn.

Metal Gear Solid Delta has only been confirmed for PS5 thus far, although it was rumored the game will be multiplatform. A release window has not been confirmed.
