Met responds to Instagram rumours of ‘child kidnapping’
Met Police have responded to rumours that were circulating earlier today on social media that a child was seen being kidnapped in Ealing.
A report on Instagram surfaced on Sunday January 30 that a child in Lady Margaret Road, Southall had been seen getting into a car under duress.
However Ealing Police say after extensive investigations the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
In a tweet Police say that although a call was made to them in good faith by a ‘concerned member of the public’ no action is being taken and no inquiry is underway.
Police say they take such sightings extremely serious but in this instance there is no cause for alarm.
