Met Gala attracted tech and media moguls like Bob Iger, Josh Kushner, Jimmy Iovine

While the Met Gala is best known for celebrity attendees clad in custom creations, there is a small but consistent contingency of private equity titans and media execs who pay homage to Anna Wintour and her costume exhibit every year.

Some of the Met’s biggest moguls this year included Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, Disney CEO Bob Iger and Blackstone Group CEO Stephen Schwarzman.

IAC and Expedia Group Chairman Barry Diller attended along with his fashion designer wife Diane von Furstenburg.

Record executive Jimmy Iovine — who did a stint at Apple music after the tech giant bought Beats headphones he helped create — also joined the event.

A number of high-powered executives who may have been invited in their own right attended with their spouses.

Thrive Capital founder Josh Kushner joined his supermodel wife Karlie Kloss at the event.

Reddit co-founder and chairman Alexis Ohanian joined his wife Serena Williams as a plus-one.

Casey Wasserman, who runs the largest sports agency Wasserman Media Group and represents musicians including Billie Eilish, joined.

Harry Kargman, who runs mobile advertising agency Kargo Global, also made an appearance.

Last year, the event raised more than $17 million.

The Met has yet to reveal how much it raised this year or how many tickets it gave celebrities for free but given the price of tickets increased from $30,000 to $50,000 this year, the nearly 600 attendees likely generated around $30 million for the museum.

In years past, the gala has hosted some of the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world including Tesla chief Elon Musk, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Apple chief designer Jony Ive, 23andMe CEO Anne Wojcicki, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, investor Vivi Nevo, Google founder Sergey Brin, Patriot’s owner and Kraft Group CEO Robert Kraft, and longtime Revlon Chair Ron Perelman.
