Melinda Messenger has spoken out after she received negative comments from fans for her updated look.
The former model, 52, shared several selfies showcasing her new grey hair with her 82,200 followers last year.
After posting the smiling photos, some commented on the star looking supposedly “very peculiar” while others stated “it adds years to you”.
As reported in The Sun, she has now shared her response on the matter: “There is no sense of loss [in losing her blonde hair] because it seems like a natural process.”
The mother-of-three continued: “I went grey because I wanted to see what it looked like, and I love it.”

She previously shared a video in response to the backlash regarding ageing, stating that “its happened for everyone” and asked “why be so against it?”
Melissa then followed up on Instagram with several photos of herself and a collage of other grey-haired women, as she celebrated that going grey was “an act of self-love”.
“I used to feel that I had to look a certain way, that I needed makeup and nice hair especially if I was going to be seen out in publicly,” she added.
The celeb continued that she had “given [herself] permission to just be” after 51 years by not dyeing her hair.
The former Live from Studio Five presenter continued: “I love it. It was scary at first, it feels so different, but it feels very ‘real’ in every sense of the word.
“Partly the conditioning of getting validation for ‘looking nice’ but a whole lot of not loving myself enough.”
The famous Class behind the Glass campaign star posted another image of her silver locks in April.
She confirmed to the newspaper that her hair colour was not “relevant” to her clients in her role as a psychotherapist.
Some fans were very supportive of the star’s appearance such as Lisa Morgan, who posted: “Your grow out of coming on beautifully! I’m 7 months in and looking like bride of Frankenstein, your hair looks beautiful and fries so quick!!”(sic)
Many others commented that Melissa looked “beautiful” and “amazing”.
The former presenter stepped away from presenting in 2015 to work for London’s Centre for Psychotherapy.
Since then, she has appeared on TV debates regarding mental health.
