Meghan Markle’s fashion hack to ‘look expensive’ – ‘game-changing’

The Feel Good Fashion Coach and royal expert Miranda Holder shared a “simple hack” that anyone can follow to “look more expensive”. According to the expert, all people need to do is simply match all of their jewellery to all of the hardware in their outfits.

She explained: “This is a really good tip to look really put together and expensive with absolutely no effort whatsoever!”

Miranda explained: “Let’s say you are wearing all gold jewellery, all you need to do is make sure that any hardware on your handbags, for example, or your jeans or even your footwear, all matches in with your jewellery so is gold too.

“The same works if you wear silver jewellery or if you can’t make your mind up, create a cohesive look and wear mixed metals the whole way through.

“Just whatever you do keep things matching, this is a small technique but it will make a huge difference to your whole aesthetic.”

She claimed this is a “super simple game-changing style hack that will make you look so much more expensive and put together with no effort whatsoever”.

“This little hack is all about the details because it’s often the little details that make the biggest impact when it comes to styling. It’s going to change your life!”

Miranda added people can mix metals too, but it’s preferable to “just keep things consistent and make this a feature in multiple style points of your look”.

She explained that sticking to one single metal colour in all the tiny details “looks super high end and expensive”.

DON’T MISS

Meghan Markle has been seen many times following this trick, most recently during the Land Rover Driving Challenge event in the Netherlands earlier this year, when she wore a gold necklace, bracelets and rings matching her handbag with a gold chain and the gold buttons on her navy blazer.

A simple way to make cheap jewellery look expensive is by avoiding statement necklaces and opting for a layered look instead.

For instance, people could wear three or four small necklaces that vary in length.

Also, some specific colours can make affordable jewellery pieces look more expensive, such as rose gold which is a great option to elevate a simple look.

Bad imitations, like wearing a fake pair of the iconic Chanel earrings, will also downgrade the look so is always better to avoid and opt for more affordable original pieces.

The fashion expert previously told Express.co.uk that the Duchess of Sussex has other style tricks to look expensive.

She said she always “goes for a minimalist style” by choosing clean outfits that accentuate the quality of the clothes and avoiding extravagant accessories.

Miranda commented: “Meghan keeps her style understated and clean, letting her beauty and elegance do the talking.

“She favours unfussy accessories and focuses on quality over quantity, which looks expensive. She also carefully selects wardrobe hero pieces which flatter her perfectly.”

Meghan often opts for neutral colours, which she can mix and match effortlessly.

Having a wardrobe full of neutrals also takes “a lot of guesswork out of dressing,” Miranda added.

“The focus becomes more about the fabric and silhouette.” The fashion expert said that taking time to get these right will “ensure a chic, expensive look”.
