Meghan Markle ‘snubbed as Katy Perry skips her party for Coronation’
Meghan Markle, 41, and Prince Harry, 38, proved they are every inch the devoted parents as they went the extra mile to celebrate their son Archie Harrison’s birthday.
The Duchess of Sussex even missed the Coronation to make sure she could plan the party for her eldest child, which may have been snubbed by A-lister Katy Perry.
According to LA-based author Lisa Gaché, Katy and her husband Orlando Bloom, whose daughter Daisy is a year younger than Archie, may have been on Meghan’s guest list, after the Pirates of the Caribbean actor struck up a friendship with Prince Harry following his move to the US.
However, this could suggest the California Gurls singer may have chosen to skip the celebration in favour of the Coronation, which she attended yesterday along with many other well-known faces, before taking to the stage at this evening’s Coronation Concert.
Lisa explained: “In Montecito, celebrities are royalty. It’s Oprah and Ellen but also Serena Williams – pregnant with her second child – and Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, whose daughter Daisy is a year younger than Archie.
“If there’s any celebrity with a child the same age, it’s safe to assume they’ll be invited,” she added in an interview with the Telegraph.
Express.co.uk has contacted Katy and Meghan for comment.
The Duke of Sussex hopped on a plane just an hour after the festivities to join his family for Archie’s party.
An adorable present to Prince Archie has been shared online as the young royal turns four years old today.
On the same day in 2019, Disney created a heartwarming animation for his birth, featuring Winnie the Pooh.
And now, after King Charles’s Coronation, royal fans have reposted the animation to wish Archie a happy birthday.
Twitter user @claireXanda posted the video, writing: “Prince Archie was celebrated by all, just beautiful.”
Another, @920Wannie, said: “I really loved this short.”
@BellahBydesign added: “Wishing Prince Archie of Sussex a very happy birthday.”
In the 25-second clip by Kim Raymond, senior principal artist at Disney, Pooh Bear carries a blue book with a crown on the cover from his home in the Hundred Acre Wood to the royal couple’s former home at Windsor Castle.
Animated drawings of Harry and Meghan then smile as they sit near a cradle labelled Archie and flip through the pages.
