Meghan Markle lookalike defends Coronation snub – ‘needs time to heal’
A woman who has become a lookalike due to her uncanny resemblance to Meghan Markle has defended the Duchess of Sussex’s decision not to return to the UK for King Charles’ Coronation.
Sarah Mhlanga is an actress and professional lookalike who has said working as a Meghan impressionist has opened her eyes to the “hate” the royal receives.
After Meghan and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, Sarah said she has been used as a “punchbag” by the public because they cannot access the real closer.
Sarah said: “There are some people who feel like [Meghan is] waging a war on the royals, and people can’t access Meghan so they’re using me as their punchbag.
“I get messages saying I’m attention-seeking and that I should be ashamed to represent Meghan, it’s so hurtful. I love Meghan, but now, after this interview, I’m worried people won’t want to hire me.”

In an recent interview with Closer Magazine, Sarah said that demand for her services have “waned” since Meghan announced she would not be attending the Coronation.
However, Sarah confessed she agreed with the Duchess’ decision despite having trouble finding work.
Sarah said: “I don’t blame her for choosing not to come to England to celebrate it, it’s her son Archie’s birthday and he’s her priority her children come first and I suspect that she needs more time to heal from all the rows.”
Sarah has also revealed that she was been forced to “ask for security” while working as a Meghan lookalike due to the hate the Duchess receives.
She said: “I’m always surprised that people have such strong feelings, and I don’t know she copes with it.
“I was trolled just for being her double! I got nasty comments and felt terrible, so I can only imagine how tough it is being const bombarded by vile criticism.”
She revealed she requests security if she is near Buckingham Palace or Windsor, as members of the public have believed she really is the royal.
Sarah also defended the Duchess, and said: “Meghan does amazing charity work and champions women which, as a feminist, I completely agree with, and I think she’s had a tough time.”
“She doesn’t deserve some of the things that are said about her. I was horrified when Jeremy Clarkson said she should be paraded naked and pelted with excrement.”
Sarah added: “At the end of the day, I just see her as a mother who’s doing the best for her family.”
