Meat Loaf once got attacked by WWE star Randy Orton in classic Raw moment
The world is mourning the death of Meat Loaf, and WWE fans have been remembering a very specific moment in his legendary career.
The Bat Out of Hell singer – who died this week aged 74 – once appeared as the guest host of Monday Night Raw back in 2010 and fans have been sharing clips from his epic skit with Randy Orton.
The hilarious segment saw Meat Loaf trying to pitch a new entrance theme for the former world champion.
He didn’t have much luck, with the Viper looking increasingly more agitated as the actor and musician sang his ideas for the new song.
Eventually, Orton snapped and dropped Meat Loaf with a huge RKO to the roar of the fans, with the latter having played his role to perfection to get the audience riled up.
Responding to a clip of the amazing moment shared on Twitter, one WWE fan wrote: ‘Got to respect the energy and effort Meat Loaf put into this cameo, especially considering the “guest managers” Raw were having in during that period of time.’
Another added: ‘RIP Meatloaf. More than a few bangers over the years, and a much better actor than he was given credit for. He even took a damn RKO once…’
A true legend.
The Bat Out Of Hell legend and Grammy winner died on Thursday night with his wife Deborah by his side.
A statement posted to Facebook read: ‘Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side.
‘Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours.
‘His amazing career spanned 6 decades that saw him sell over 100 Million albums worldwide and star in over 65 movies, including Fight Club, Focus, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Wayne’s World. Bat Out of Hell remains one of the top 10 selling albums of all time.
‘We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man.
‘We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!’
No cause of death was confirmed in the statement announcing the sad news, but sources told TMZ that the star cancelled a business dinner earlier this week after falling ill with Covid.
It’s claimed his condition became ‘critical’. It has not been confirmed whether Meat Loaf was vaccinated.
