MDU gets permission for 6 online courses – Times of India

Rohtak: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) has been granted permission to start six new online programmes under the aegis of Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) from the session 2023-24.

Varsity CDOE director, Prof. Nasib Singh Gill informed that distance education board (DEB), University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted permission for starting Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), master of arts (M.A.) hindi, history, political science, economics and public administration from the current session.
Prof. Gill, who is also the director, digital learning centre (DLC), said that this permission for online programmes would boost the digital teaching–learning practices in the University.

Varsity vice-chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh said that M.D.University is committed to implement the guidelines of NEP, 2020 which also has provision for an online education component. He said that online education is the need of the present time which would immensely benefit the student community. VC said that MDU is a pioneer university promoting digital-learning practices. This permission for 6 new online programmes would also boost NIRF ranking and NAAC grading of the University. He congratulated CDOE for taking this digital education initiative.
Notably, MDU had earlier introduced two P.G. programmes – M.Com and M.Sc (Mathematics) through online mode from the last session.
This new development is indeed a significant milestone in the University’s progress journey, VC Prof. Rajbir Singh asserted.
