M&Co closing 170 high street stores over the next few months
M&Co is closing all of its high street stores after its new owner didn’t purchase the bricks-and-mortar of the brand when it went into administration last year.
Clothing retailer M&Co, previously known as Mackays, has begun clothing its stores after the brand collapsed into administration last year.
Yours Clothing purchased the company but didn’t buy any of its physical shops. Yours Clothing also owns BadRhino, Long Tall Sally and Bump It Up Maternity.
Across the UK 170 stores employed 1,910 members of staff.
Most premises began closing down at the end of last month, but by the end of April, all 170 shops will shut down permanently.

A message read: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers for your custom and friendship throughout the years. We look forward to seeing you all in the coming days.”
A post on the M&Co Egham page said: “Last day of trading for Egham store will be Saturday, April 15.”
