Anthony McGill leads Jack Lisowski and Mark Selby is ahead of Gary Wilson as they both head into the final sessions of their World Championship last 16 matches on Monday.

Mcgill opened up an incredible 10-1 lead over Lisowski as he threatened to finish the game with a session to spare, but Jackpot avoided that embarrassing fate.

Jackpot won four frames on the spin to make the scoreline somewhat respectable, but McGill claimed the last one of Sunday’s play, meaning the Scot leads 11-5 in the race to 13 which concludes on Monday evening.

Selby is also in firm control of his second round clash, 10-6 ahead of Gary Wilson and continuing the solid form he showed in his first match against Matt Selt.

There was little to separate the Jester from Leicester and the Tyneside Terror, over the first session, with the score winding its way to 6-6 before the former champion began to pull away.

Selby won the last four frames to finish the second session, including breaks of 91 and 71 to pile the pressure back on Wilson.

If the pair can hang onto their leads then McGill will go on and face either Robert Milkins or Si Jiahui in the quarter-finals, while it look as though Selby will get a blockbuster clash with John Higgins.

The Wizard of Wishaw is not into the quarters just yet, but his first session against Kyren Wilson on Sunday morning went perfectly, with the four-time champion winning 8-0 in an imperious performance.

Higgins and Wilson return on Sunday evening, alongside the second session of Milkins and Si.

The quarter-finals get underway on Tuesday, starting with Ronnie O’Sullivan vs Luca Brecel and Mark Allen vs Jak Jones in the morning.
