McDonald’s worker claims manager, co-workers spied on her with camera
A McDonald’s employee is not lovin’ it — slamming her co-workers and managers for allegedly “spying” on her through a security camera.
The series of three now-viral videos — which have racked up well over 5 million views as of Tuesday morning — was posted by the disgruntled worker identified only as Tizzie, who is shown to be crying while still wearing her uniform.
According to Tizzie, she is the only employee at her store that takes orders from customers while other co-workers “do what they want” and the managers turn a blind eye.
“I have something to say about McDonald’s: First off, don’t work there. Just don’t work there,” the visibly upset employee declares in the clip, one of a growing number of viral rants from outspoken McD’s employees. “My managers may see this, and I hope you do, because what you’ve done to your own employee is wrong. It’s obnoxious, it’s rude and it’s horrible.”
The ticked-off TikToker goes on to claim she had told her manager in advance that her grandmother was coming to visit her at the new job. However, once her grandmother arrived, Tizzie alleges her boss stormed in and told her she was neglecting another order in favor of her relative’s.
“There were no orders on the screen … I go and take her order, and I treat her like any other customer … You can see that on the security camera,” says Tizzie. “But before I take her order, an employee walks in and waves at the camera … And she goes, ‘Oh, you know the manager is watching you.’ “
Tizzie claimed every employee — and all the managers — were watching the scene unfold via a closed-circuit TV in another room.
“I walk to the security room, every single employee besides one and all the managers are watching me on the security camera. Every single one of them,” she seethed.
“Imagine that: All your work people are just watching you behind your back. I was the one who got told off for not working, but yet they’re all watching me like I’m some kind of reality TV show?”
Several TikTok commenters flocked to the video, offering her words of support and bashing the fast food joint.
“McDonalds managers are literally on a power trip, they couldn’t be a manager anywhere else so they think they own the place,” jeered one user.
“You need to hand your notice in saying you resign with immediate effect. And you should complain to HR,” said another.
“No job is worth this. Absolutely none. Protect your mental health before anything else. You deserve to be happy xx,” consoled one TikTok watchdog.
The Post has reached out to both McDonald’s and Tizzie for comment.
In two follow-up videos — which have 340,000 and 270,000 views each — she said that while she knows that she can get fired for posting the videos, no amount of money is “worth the humiliation.”
In the third click, the TikToker slams McDonald’s as a whole, and says that despite being the only one who did work, she still got paid the same as everyone else.
“No matter how hard I work, no matter how good I am, how bad I am, how fast I work, it doesn’t change the price. I still get paid the same,” says Tizzie.
“But it’s not even about money at this point. It’s about human decency.”
Tizzie announced in her TikTok comments that she will indeed be resigning.
“Thank you guys for all the support! I appreciate it so much, I will be handing in my notice as it made me feel so humiliated and embarrassed,” she said.
