Maura Higgins ‘devastated by split’ from Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice in whirlwind romance
The relationship between Love Island’s Maura Higgins, 30, and Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice, 31, has reportedly hit the rocks within days of the couple moving in together. A source told The Sun how the reason for the split came down to Giovanni’s busy schedule whilst filming this year’s season of Strictly Come Dancing with partner Rose Ayling-Ellis, 26.
“It’s all over for now. Maura’s absolutely devastated, it appears the Strictly curse has struck again,” the source revealed.
“Pals are hoping that they can patch things up.
“But only time will tell whether they’ll work things out as Giovanni is so busy.”
Giovanni has been constantly rehearsing with his Strictly partner Rose, who has wowed the judges so far with her graceful movement and natural chemistry with her partner.

The past few months have been a turbulent time in the Love Island star’s love life, as just two months before she came official with Giovanni, she broke up with fellow islander Chris Taylor.
Before the Strictly pair danced for the first time, Maura posted a photograph of them to social media alongside a supportive caption.
“The very best of luck to you both tonight. I know you will absolutely smash it,” she wrote.
