The 1975 frontman Matty Healy has left fans scratching their heads after sinking his teeth into raw meat during the band’s Finsbury Park show – and, bizarrely, it’s not the first time.

The indie superstars performed the epic London show last night accompanied by the likes of Bleachers, American Football, and Pretty Sick.

And during the band’s mammoth, hit-packed set, Matty, 34, decided to enjoy a snack as he revisited some of his previous wild onstage behaviour.

In footage captured by Metro.co.uk, the controversial vocalist can be seen unbuttoning and removing his white shirt as the crowd whooped their appreciation, possibly unaware of what would happen next.

Dropping to his knees to take a swig from a bottle of wine, before picking up a large hunk of raw meat in one hand by the bone.

He immediately began tearing into it, with cheers and gasps from the crowd. It’s not the first time Matty has, uh, treated audiences to this mid-set act as he was seen last year when the group brought their At Their Very Best world tour to New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

Fans were quick to take to social media to share their shock and question ‘what did we just watch.’

‘“WE ARE SO BACK” and it’s just matty healy violating a cameraman and eating raw meat,’ one user wrote.

Another added: ‘We just didn’t want it to occur I did NOT want to watch matty healy irl devour a raw slab of meat but here we are.’

‘Matty Healy eating some raw meat, doing 27 push-ups and crawling through a hole has to be the weirdest end to a concert maybe ever and yet I’m not even slightly surprised my,’ another user wrote, surmising the other strange antics Matty treats fans to during the average show.

He also took time during the show to address comments that have seen the singer come under fire since the band began.

In video footage captured by Metro.co.uk, the Robbers singer began his speech by thanking the crowd for showing up, insisting he’s ‘not someone who takes things for granted’.

‘The 1975 isn’t a dry band. There’s a lot of irony in it,’ he continued.

‘Like, Love Me, for example, it doesn’t make sense unless I’m taking the p**s out of myself,’ he added, referencing one of the band’s most popular singles and its lyrics.

‘I was always, like, trying stuff. And some stuff I got right and some stuff I got wrong.

‘But, do you know what? There’s a lot of things I’ve said, jokes that I’ve made, you know what, there’s probably a couple of f***ing songs I’d take back if I had the chance.

‘What I mean is that I really am only doing this because I want to make you guys laugh and feel good. That’s what my favourite art does and that’s what I’m trying to do.

‘I get a bit excited. And, you know what, I’m f***ing proud of myself,’ he concluded, resulting in screams from the crowd.
