Master Detective Archives: Rain Code – Chapter 3 Bomb Defusal Minigame Guide
Master Detective Archives: Rain Code is the latest game from Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka and Too Kyo Games, and it will put your mind to the test in much the same way. Typically, the game’s investigation phase is relatively linear and straightforward, with the game reserving most of the challenge for its “Mystery Labyrinths” (check out our guides for those here) but Chapter 3 does add a little something extra to the investigation phase – a Bomb Defusal minigame.
These Bomb Defusal challenges task you with figuring out a pattern and choosing the right image to complete it under a time limit, and can actually be pretty tricky. But hey, instead of frustrating yourself trying to trial and error the solutions, you can just check out our handy-dandy mini guide, below!
Bomb Defusal 1
This bomb is located in the bus stop outside the café in Ginma District.
- This first bomb defusal is basically a gimme, but just in case you’re confused, the correct tile is the one of the bottom-left of the grid of six.
Bomb Defusal 2
The second bomb is located on the vending machine near the hotel in Kamasaki District.
- Hmmm, a series of shapes and letters – what could it all mean? The shapes are actually zoomed-in arrows pointing in different directions – up, left, down, and… right! “R” is the correct answer.
Bomb Defusal 3
The final bomb is located in the bushes outside the Aetheria Academy.
- This one’s a little different than the rest. You aren’t necessarily trying to identify a sequence, but rather, figure out what the squares on the left would form if they were folded into a 3D cube. The answer is the cube on the bottom-right of the grid of six.
And there we are! All the bombs defused, without any restarts or confusion!
Master Detective Archives: Rain Code is available now on Nintendo Switch. You can check out guides for other chapters of the game here. Here’s Wccftech’s full review of the game.
