Revealed in a press release from Marvel, the variant cover, which you can see below, comes from artist John Cassady, who’s known for his works on such titles as Astonishing X-Men and Captain America. The art shows both Fortnite‘s Doctor Slone and Wolverine about to fly into one of his berserker rages.

According to the ploy synopsis for Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War, the series will explore an island whose inhabitants are locked in a never-ending war. However, a crystallized shard of an artifact called the Zero Point — which is in the Marvel Universe — has the potential to change the island’s fate. Spider-Man, Wolverine and Shuri will thus team up with various Fortnite characters to hunt down this fragment, known as the Zero Shard. They’ll be opposed by the Imagined Order of which Doctor Slone is a part. Recently, a trailer for Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War teased the two universes colliding. The event is said to have an impact on both Marvel and Fortnite’s universes.
