Marvel’s Fantastic Four- Phase 6 MCU Film Finds Its Writers, as Director Matt Shakman and Kevin Feige Begin the Search for Its Cast
Phase 6 of the MCU is seemingly take shape, as the long-awaited Fantastic Four project finally finds its writers.
According to Deadline, the MCU adaptation of the First Family of Marvel will be written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
Following several delays and changes, the project received its first major addition earlier this month with the selection of director Matt Shakman of Game of Thrones and Wandavision fame. Shakman replaced Jon Watts, who left the project after working on the MCU Spider-Man trilogy.
With a team of writers and director in place, the report mentioned that Shakman and Marvel chief Kevin Feige will now move on to finalizing the cast that will portray the Fantastic Four in the MCU, while the script is being written.
Over the past few months, several names have been touted to take part in the film. This includes actors like Penn Badgley and John Krasinski, who are in the running to play Marvel’s smartest man in Reed Richards. Furthermore, Free Guy and Killing Eve star Jodie Comer is rumored to be in the lead for playing Sue Storm.
Other casting rumors include Jason Segel, who might play Ben Grimm aka The Thing in the MCU adaptation. While the actors playing the team of heroes still remains shrouded mystery, it seems like fans won’t have to wait long to see who plays Doctor Doom, as the character is rumored to be appearing in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which releases later this year.
