The trailers for Multiverse of Madness have teased that Scarlet Witch may serve as more of an antihero in the sequel, if not a full-blown villain. “It’s not the most fun, in my mind, to always play the hero of a story where they do no wrong,” Olsen said. “I don’t find that interesting. I think the reason why I really enjoyed Wanda from the beginning is that she’s very clear in her beliefs. They just don’t align with others, and that’s okay. She’ll have her own realizations and admit when she makes mistakes.”

Director Sam Raimi also hinted at Wanda’s villainous turn. When asked who the main villain of the film is, he replied, “Well, there’s iterations of our characters throughout the multiverse. So, if I were to say Strange… I’m not really supposed to answer this question, but I might be saying altered Strange. Same with Wanda and Mordo. But I would say, at different times, all of the above.”

Who Is…The Scarlet Witch #1 and Who Is…America Chavez #1 are now available on Marvel Unlimited. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens on May 6.
