Marvel Introduces Ultron’s ‘Perfect Form’ in Avengers Miniseries Preview
A devastating new form of Ultron, powered by the dust left behind after the Infinity Stones were destroyed, debuts in Avengers: Tech-On Avengers #4.
Ultron has a new perfect form in Avengers: Tech-On Avengers #4, and this time, the old foe of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is powered by fragments of the Infinity Stones.
A preview of Issue #4 of the out-of-continuity series shows Captain America and Captain Marvel in Tokyo discussing how they feel about Tony Stark’s increasingly secretive technological projects. Before the two Captains can determine how they plan on confronting Iron Man, they are alerted to an energy signature coming their way. This is none other than Ulton, who proclaims that his new form is dubbed “Ulton-I.”

Avengers: Tech-On Avengers, written by Jim Zub and illustrated by Jeffrey “Chamba” Cruz, is a comic heavily influenced by Japanese sentai shows like Ultraman. The first issue featured the Avengers recovering from a climatic battle with Thanos that resulted in the destruction of the Infinity Stones. Red Skull breaks this peace, unleashing an attack with the Infinity Mirror Shards — the dust left behind after the stones were destroyed — that causes all heroes on Earth to lose their powers.
In this new world, Spider-Man lacks his Spider Sense, Wolverine can barely survive due to the adamantium in his body, and Captain America has reverted to his small, lanky body prior to taking the Super Soldier Serum. To help his colleagues return to their full potential, Tony Stark develops a series of custom-made battle suits, dubbing them the “Iron Avengers.” Thus far, the Iron Avengers have battled a mech version of Loki and recruited the X-Man Sunfire, who now goes by the name Battle Fire.
The six-issue series is a collaboration between Marvel and Bandai Spirits. Manga artist Eiichi Shimizu designed the mech suits worn by each Avenger.
“I grew up on a steady stream of Japanese animation and tokusatsu-centric stories, so bringing those same sensibilities to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is an absolute rush,” Zub said in May. “The team at Bandai Spirits absolutely crushed it on the hero and villain designs and Chamba is the perfect artist to bring this world to life, with dynamic action art that feels like it popped off the screen and onto the printed page.”
Avengers: Tech-On Avengers #4 goes on sale Nov. 10.
