Bookings for the new model had opened in the first week of February 2022.

According to reports, the new model comes with an updated platform, updated exterior and interiors and a new petrol engine that can deliver a fuel efficiency of over 22 km per litre.

The new Baleno will come with various segment-first features. These include idle start-stop tech and heads-up display, etc.

The new Baleno will be the first product in its segment to offer a 360-degree camera, which will make for easier parking.

It has been dynamically crafted cater to the needs of a tech-savvy generation, Maruti said.

Riding on the new model, MSI aims to further augment its position in the premium hatchback segment. Baleno’s rivals include Hyundai i20, Tata Motors Altroz and Volkwagen Polo.

Baleno is already a frontrunner in its segment. Sales figures who it took the least number of months to cross the 10 lakh sales mark in India.

“The model comes with a number of advanced features. We have been criticised in the past for having less features in our cars, but with the new Baleno, it has been completely addressed. We have gone beyond what is being offered in the segment, that is the major change and help in raising the aspirational quotient of the model even more,” MSI Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) Shashank Srivastava said.

MSI sells Baleno through Nexa, its premium sales network. The new model is expected to be priced in the Rs 6.50 lakh to Rs 10 lakh range (ex-showroom).
