Mark Austin tells Piers Morgan to ‘get a job’ as he hits out over Keely Hodgkinson’s medal

Piers Morgan’s comments about medals at the Olympics are still causing controversy online. The latest star to wade in with his thoughts is Sky News’ Mark Austin, who queried what the former Good Morning Britain presenter had said about Keely Hodgkinson.

The row started after Piers responded to a follower in view of his 7.9 million followers on Twitter.

The outspoken presenter had previously voiced how in his opinion, the only medals worth winning are gold.

His latest target was GB’s Keely Hodgkinson who won silver in 800m Tokyo Olympics event.

One user pointed out to him: “So by @piersmorgan definition Keeley Hodgkinson is a loser because she got silver yet broke Dame Kelly Holmes British record?

Piers couldn’t help but reply to the broadcaster as they engaged in a public row.

He hit back: “Please stop virtue-signalling Austin… it’s embarrassing.

“Victory comes solely from winning, not losing. Not that you would know given your @SkyNews ratings.”

Keely broke Dame Kelly Holmes’ British Record during the final earlier today.

The 19-year-old ran a time of one minute 55.88 seconds, smashing the previous record which had stood since 1995.

However, she just missed out on the gold medal with the United States’ Athing Mu clinching the top spot.
