Manchester United in pursuit of €70m Dominik Szoboszlai and more rumours

Manchester United have reportedly joined the pursuit to sign highly-rated Hungarian attacker Dominik Szoboszlai.

The RB Leipzig man arrived in Germany last January, but had to wait until August for his debut after missing a period through a groin injury including Hungary’s Euro 2020 campaign.

So far in this campaign, he has three goals and assists in 10 Bundesliga appearances including a brace against VfB Stuttgart as United remain interested in his release clause which is in the region of €60m to €70m with the German side said to be happy to let the attacker leave.

That is according to German news outlet Sport BILD, via Sport Witness, who say that Diego Simeone is also interested in his services with Jesse Marsch’s side likely to enjoy a profitable windfall from his sale.

Leipzig are renowned for their development of the talents dotted across the world with Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer sealing moves to Bayern Munich in the summer whilst Ibrahima Konate made the switch to Anfield in the summer.

Meanwhile, Sevilla reportedly have their backs up as they fear that United could trigger the £69m release clause for defender Jules Kounde.

Despite the summer addition of Raphael Varane, United have kept just one clean sheet and Saturday’s defeat to Manchester City meant they made it 14 matches at Old Trafford without denying their opponents a goal.

Chelsea had previously been in the hunt for the Frenchman but saw their efforts rejected in the summer and now the Spaniards are bracing themselves for interest from Manchester United.

That is according to AS via the Daily Mail who say that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are set to swoop in on the central defender beating the Premier League in their efforts.

The report goes on to say United are monitoring for the 22-year-old while Thomas Tuchel’s side are maintaining their interest with Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Andreas Christensen set to leave at the end of the season when their deals expire.
