Man United fan goes viral with rare footage of 1999 Champions League comeback
A Manchester United fan has gone viral after releasing unseen footage of the 1999 Champions League final.
It is the 23rd anniversary of United completing the most unlikely of comebacks against Bayern Munich. United were famously 1-0 down in stoppage time in the match, but late goals from Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dramatically won the game for United at the very death. The unlikely win saw United notch their first European Cup since the days of Sir Matt Busby.
United also completed an unprecedented Treble that season. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League after a memorable late turnaround at the Nou Camp, much to Bayern Munich’s disbelief.

Now, rare footage has been released by United fan Thomas Coxhead, which shows the dramatic comeback from the terraces.
Stephen Coxhead, Thomas’ father, attended the game at the Nou Camp and he snuck in his camcorder to record the last five minutes of the match.
The video has gone viral on social media on the 23rd anniversary of the match. Coxhead’s tweet has received over 35,000 likes on Twitter.
