Man slashed in the face in attack outside a South London library
A man has been slashed in the face during an evening attack in Bexleyheath. Police were called after it was reported that a man had been found injured near the Central Library on Townley Road at 6.51pm on Thursday (May 19).
On arrival, police weren’t able to find the man and he later self-presented at a South London hospital. He had a slash injury to his face and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstance behind his injuries. His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to reports of a man found injured in Townley Road, Bexleyheath. Officers attended and spoke to witnesses who reported that the man had left the area in a car before police arrived.
“Shortly after at 7.10pm, a man self-presented at a south London hospital with a slash injury to his face. His condition has been assessed as not life-threatening.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 6665/19May. To remain anonymous contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
