Man left with ‘life-changing’ head injury after being ‘attacked’ in busy street

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was found seriously injured in West London earlier this evening (May 7). The man in his 40s as been left with a head injury after he thought to have been attacked in Harrow Road, W9, with his injuries thought to be life-changing.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called by LAS at 20:21hrs on Saturday, 7 May to reports of an unresponsive man in Harrow Road W9. Officers responded.

“A man aged in his 40s was found with a head injury – he is thought to have been assaulted. He was taken to hospital; condition being treated as potentially life-changing. There have been no arrests at this stage. A crime scene is in place.”

The victim was taken to hospital in an ambulance

It has been a busy night for the emergency services in the west of the capital, as around 100 firefighters rushed to the scene of a warehouse fire in Park Royal. As well as the crews, 15 fire engines are also on the scene of the blaze in Minerva Road.

The fire is in the same street as another blaze which happened at a bakery just days ago. Around 125 firefighters and 20 fire engines were called to that fire at an industrial bakery in a factory in Minerva Road at around 3am on May 3, and had to use a 32-foot ladder and an aerial drone when they tackled the blaze. It is not known whether today’s fire is in the same building.

A person was also shot with an air rifle in Newham today, while a teenager was found with stab injuries in Tottenham. A woman is also fighting for her life in hospital after being hit by a car in Victoria.
