A man has taken to the internet to share how he and his little brother got into a bit of a tiff over the younger’s new tattoo.

The poster, who’s shared the story in Reddit group r/AmItheA**hole, describes it as ‘a pretty cut and dry scenario’ between the two men.

When he first saw the ink, he laughed in his brother’s face – but it wasn’t because the tattoo was bad.

It’s more to do with the tattoo’s meaning and the fact that the younger brother is something of a serial cheater.

‘My (32M) little brother (25M) has been in a string of relationships since he was young enough to know what dating was,’ he writes.

‘On several occasions, the relationships ended because he was caught cheating with another girl (these are just the ones that I know about, there could be more). In fact, his current girlfriend (19F) was the “other woman” from his previous relationship.

‘He (I’ll call him Danny) still lives with my parents and I headed over on the 4th [of July] for barbecue. When he reached out for a hug I noticed his arm was super red, and he showed me his brand-new tattoo that he had literally just got. In huge words, it said “LOYALTY” in cursive.’

This struck the poster as ‘really ironic’, but he also admits that he might not be in the right for what happened next.

People having argument at home

‘I kind of laughed as soon as I saw it and didn’t try to hide it at all (it wasn’t a dramatic laugh). He said what’s so funny, and I just said his tattoo was really ironic.

‘He got pissed and stormed off to his room and didn’t join my parents and I (and our sister) for dinner.

‘I told them what happened, and they said I was being an AH [aka a**hole], and my sister said people are allowed to change.

‘I personally think he’s acting like a child by locking himself in his room and that I shouldn’t be blamed for a 25 [year-old] storming off.’

People in the comments seem pretty united in siding with the poster over the habitually cheating younger brother.

‘Someone who cheats hardly gets to be upset that someone laughed at them for tattooing the word “loyalty” on their body’, commented one person.

‘Maybe he’s loyal to cheating,’ was the reply from another user.

Plenty have also taken issue with the age of his brother’s girlfriend/former mistress, with one pointing out: ‘His affair partner is 6 years younger and technically still a teenager?

‘Was she even an adult when it started? Or is he just very fast in bringing girls over to the family?’
