Man in his 20s found dead in South London woods
A young man, thought to be in his 20s, was found dead in a woods in South London. Police were called to Oxleas Woods in Welling yesterday morning (Saturday, June 11) to reports of an unresponsive man.
The London Ambulance Service attended alongside officers but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as non-suspicious, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.
Police are working to inform the man’s family while a post-examination is to be held. A file will be prepared for the coroner.

Locals spotted three police cars and two ambulances at the scene at the Welling Way entrance to the woods. The woods have remained open to the public.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Police were called about 7am on Saturday, June 11 to reports of an unresponsive man in Oxleas Woods off Welling Way. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.
“The man, thought to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as non-suspicious.
“Enquiries are ongoing to inform the man’s family. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
