Man found dead in East London street with police treating it as ‘unexplained’

A man has been found dead by police in East London. Metropolitan Police officers rushed to Kingsmead Avenue, Romford, at 9.49am yesterday (Sunday, February 27) alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

Officers found the body of a man at the scene. They have confirmed they are not treating the death as suspicious but it is currently ‘unexplained’.

Responding to a press inquiry from MyLondon, the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 9.49am on Sunday, February 27 to reports of a man, believed to be in his 50s, found deceased on Kingsmead Avenue in Romford.

“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. Officers are in the process of contacting next of kin.
