Man City fans all say same thing as Phil Foden notches another award
Manchester City’s Phil Foden was named the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year on Thursday, the second consecutive season the 22-year-old has scooped the award.
The life-long Blue played a key role in City’s successful campaign, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions. He beat the likes of Conor Gallagher, Reece James, Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Jacob Ramsey to the award.
On his achievement, Foden said: “I’m really honoured to be honest, especially to win it back-to-back. It shows that I’ve come a long way this year with the consistency of my game, and I’m really pleased to win it again.”

City fans were understandably delighted that Foden’s brilliance has been recognised, especially given that Kevin De Bruyne lost out on the PFA Player of the Year prize. Some have argued that Arsenal and England attacker Saka deserved to win, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a City fan who doesn’t think that Foden is the best young player in the Premier League.
@NFTnitro07: Getting my bucket ready to collect some tears from these rival fans.
@jasonja36812333: Best young player I’ve seen in a long time so much energy and puts a good shift in, also a skillful player and knows his job. Love it when he plays, can’t wait to see him play with Haaland, Alvarez, the way he puts the ball in the box, roll on next season.
@JSRFootball: We literally have two of the top three young players in the world.
