Mahindra hikes Thar prices by over Rs 1 lakh. Check details

Indian major automaker Mahindra & Mahindra has increased the price of its popular Thar SUV. The company has reportedly increased the price of the SUV by up to Rs 1.05 lakh for different variants. The price hike is reportedly due to updated compaince norms like BS6 2.0 and RDE emissions.

Post price hike, Thar X (O) Hard Top Diesel MT RWD variant will now costs Rs 55,000 extra, while the Thar LX Hard Top Diesel MT RWD variant will get expensive by Rs 1.05 lakh. The other models of the Thar SUV range will be expensive by Rs 28,000.

The top-spec Mahindra Thar LX Hard Top Diesel AT 4WD will now be available at Rs 16.77 lakh (ex-showroom), while the base variant’s price will remains unchanged at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Meanwhile, Mahindra is reportedly planning to launch a new variant of the Thar SUV to compete against the Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming Jimny SUV. The SUV was showcased at Auto Expo 2023 and is expected to be launched later this year.

Recently, the company had introduced two new colour options of Mahindra Thar 4WD — Everest White and Blazing Bronze. These colour vairants were earlier available only for the 2WD model. Now, the Mahindra Thar 4WD is available in six colours options– Everest White, Blazing Bronze, Aqua Marine, Red Rage, Napoli Black, and Galaxy Grey.

The Thar has been a popular choice among off-road enthusiasts and adventure seekers since its launch in India. The vehicle has been lauded for its rugged design, impressive off-road capabilities, and modern features. The vehicle has also been well received by critics and has won several awards since its launch.
