Madonna’s daughter seen for first time after staying ‘by mother’s side’ in ICU

Lourdes Leon tried to keep up her normal appearances after news of Madonna’s illness broke yesterday.

Sharing on her Instagram story on Wednesday evening, the 26-year-old posed in a sage green corset top, revealing a belly ring and a few dainty tattoos.

The model paired her risque top with some classic low-rise jeans, accessorised with a chained belt and black leather bag.

The model posed by the edge of a stage, tagging shoe company Vans, donning her iconic dark lipliner and a scattering of chunky silver jewellery.

After Madonna’s hospitalisation on Saturday, reports claimed Lourdes has stayed by her mother’s side throughout her health scare.

The 64-year-old stayed in the ICU for several days with what has been described as a serious bacterial infection.

Yesterday it was announced that the Like A Virgin singer had been forced to postpone her highly-anticipated Celebration World Tour, as “all commitments” would need to be paused for the foreseeable future as she recovers.

Her manager, Guy Oseary, reassured fans in a statement: “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.

“We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

Madonna was set to begin her tour on July 15 in Canada and had been excitedly sharing her rehearsal process on Instagram in the run-up to her first major tour in seven years.

Lourdes reportedly remained by her mother’s side throughout the health scare. A relative of the Vogue singer also told the Daily Mail that the family had been “preparing for the worst”.

They claimed that the uncertainty of whether Madonna would pull through was the reason why fans were kept in the dark, as the “reality of the situation” was “everyone believed that we may lose her”.

They also said the singer had been “wearing herself thin” over the rehearsal process for her world tour, which will stop in 35 cities and was due to run until the start of 2024.
