Madonna told to ‘act her age’ over licking guitar in tour announcement

Material Girl singer Madonna, 64, revealed to her 18.9 million Instagram followers that she would be adding eight more dates to her comeback Celebration Tour.

However, fans were distracted by the racy clip the Grammy Award winner posted to accompany the announcement.

Madonna, dressed in a barely buttoned lime green shirt to flash her fishnet-clad legs, squatted next to her guitar and stuck her tongue out to lick the musical instrument.

The star wowed with her wrinkle-free visage as she cheekily captioned the post: “Is it possible to Fall in Love with your Guitar? #celebrationtour.”

It wasn’t long before a debate erupted in the comments section of the 4 Minutes hitmaker’s post, about whether or not she should start “acting her age”.

One social media user wrote: “Sis needs to start acting her age.”

“Do your self a favor retire you have become a caricature of a unrecognizable portrait of your once beautiful self,” another fan added.

“Your attempts to act like you’re in your 20s again is hilariously sad,” a third swiped.

However, others argued that the negative comments were a product of envy, with one Madonna fan hitting back: “The negative comments here are so predictable. Most of them come from people who are scared of getting older and insignificant themselves.”

A second agreed: “I think its beautiful and inspiring for someone that has crossed 60 to be so free and happy i admire her courage to stand up to the hate and ageisem to the woman misogyny. She really is an icon and i love how free her mindset is i hope she will continue to not give a s*** and inspire.”

Meanwhile, a third admirer simply commented: “I wish I was that guitar.”

It comes just months after Madonna was criticised for her appearance at the 2023 Grammys, before she hit back at the “ageist” remarks.
