Madonna reflects on month since hospitalisation in wholesome family snap
The Material Girls icon, 64, was hospitalised late last month, after being found unresponsive, with reports claiming she was ‘vomiting uncontrollably’.
The Vogue hitmaker was rushed in an ambulance for treatment, with doctors discovering she had contracted a serious bacterial infection, but was thankfully later confirmed to be back home and surrounded by her loved ones.
A previous statement confirmed that her 40th-anniversary tour was also being put on hold, and she has since shared an update in a lengthy Instagram post.
In her latest Instagram post, Madonna shared adorable snaps of her cuddling up to children David Banda and Lourdes Leon.
‘As a Mother you can really get caught up In the needs Of your children and the seemingly endless giving……….. But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference.’
She continued: ‘So did the love and support from my friends. A perfect triangle of Brilliance.Artist who touched so many lives including my own.
‘I sobbed when I opened this gift because I realized how lucky I am to be alive. And how fortunate I am to have known these people and so many others who are also gone.Thank you [manager] @guyoseary for this gift!’
‘And Thank you to all my angels who protected me and let me Stay to finish doing my work! ♥️’
The US superstar previously explained that some of her tour dates would be rescheduled as she recovered at home.
In an Instagram post, the singer said: ‘Thank you for your positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement. I have felt your love.
‘I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life.’
She was due to begin Madonna: The Celebration Tour in Canada on July 15, before her manager Guy Oseary said last month that a ‘serious bacterial infection’ led to the singer spending several days in the ICU.
