Madonna reaches out to fans as she recovers from bacterial infection

When they call her name, it’s like a little prayer.

Pop icon Madonna thanked her many fans Tuesday for their continued support as she recovers from her brief but brutal hospital stay after contracting a bacterial infection.

The “Material Girl” singer posted an image of herself on social media, embracing a bunch of pink roses with a simple caption:

“A single rose can be my garden

“A single friend my world.”

Originating from American writer and former USC professor Leo Buscaglia, the quote is meant to remind the reader to find joy in the smallest of things as well as look at the world from a new perspective.

The Post reached out to Madonna for comment.

Earlier this month, Madonna, 64, posted a more detailed update on her well-being while also thanking fans for their love.

“Thank you for your positive energy. Prayers and words of healing and encouragement. I have felt your love,” read the social media post. “I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings.”

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour.” continued the statement. “I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.”

The “Vogue” singer said that she plans to focus on her health so she can be back with her fans “as soon as I can.”

Madonna also let fans know that she plans to reschedule the North American leg of her postponed “Celebrations” tour and start the European leg in October.

The postponement of the tour comes after the “Like a Virgin” singer was found unresponsive at her New York residence and was later admitted into the ICU.

Reports claimed that the singer was administered an injection of Narcan when her “lifeless body” was found.

Madonna’s longtime manager, Guy Oseary, later shared an update on his Instagram account, claiming the Queen of Pop had “developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU.”

She was later spotted by a fan walking around NYC’s Upper East Side neighborhood over the weekend.

It was reported that while the pop star didn’t seem to have any trouble walking, she did seem to be taking her time.
