Madonna cancels Denver concert after being hospitalized with a “serious bacterial infection”

Madonna’s greatest-hits cavalcade will no longer be visiting Denver next month after the singer’s management canceled her 2023 “Celebration” tour on Wednesday afternoon.

Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, said a “serious bacterial infection” required the 64-year-old singer to be treated in intensive care for several days, according to a prepared statement on his Instagram account. That immediately nixed her July 25 headlining show at Ball Arena.

“Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care,” he wrote. “A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

The singer was found unresponsive on Saturday and rushed to a New York City hospital, where she was intubated for at least one night before having the tube removed, according to entertainment site Page Six.
