Made-in-India Shooter MaskGun Crosses 50 Million Players

SuperGaming, the studio behind one of India’s most successful mobile games, Maskgun, has announced that the game has crossed a major milestone with 50 million players across Android and iOS platforms. Complementing the announcement, SuperGaming also revealed some interesting insight into the game’s statistics on social media. The game has been revealed to have over 1.3 million clans, who have spent over a total of 23 million hours in the game.

MaskGun 50 Million Milestone Rewards

To celebrate the occasion, MaskGun will be giving away in-game rewards this weekend (October 9-10) with the following:

  • 50 hours of double XP
  • 50 hours of double gold

“When we launched MaskGun we never expected to have the impact it did and the outpouring of love from the MaskGun family has inspired us to be better,” said Roby John, CEO and co-founder of SuperGaming. “Their support has made the journey to 50 million — and beyond – all worth the while. In the weeks to come we’ll be highlighting these community heroes as our way of celebrating their stories that our game has been fortunate to play host to in some small way.”

Earlier this year, SuperGaming raised $5.5 million (around Rs. 40,80,00,000) in Series A funding, revealing that it currently working on its own battle royale game that is expected to launch in early 2022.

MaskGun crossing 50 million downloads is impressive considering it’s an original made-in-India IP running on SuperGaming’s proprietary engine. This puts the game close to Battlegrounds Mobile India in terms of player count, which also crossed the same milestone in downloads, although in a significantly shorter amount of time before its release on iOS. SuperGaming’s unannounced battle royale game isn’t the first made in India game in the genre, with Mobile Premier League also working on its own BR game, eying a potential late 2021 release.
