M60 driver clocked at 100mph failed drugs test for cocaine and cannabis

The driver of a Land Rover Freelander who was clocked speeding in excess of 100mph on the M60 last night also failed a drugs test. They tested positive for cannabis and cocaine use and it was also discovered that the motorist had been disqualified from driving twice, had no licence or insurance and was wanted on warrant.

Their driving was also described as erratic as well as at excessive speed and, unsurprisingly, the driver was arrested, charged and remanded to appear at court on Monday morning on suspicion of committing several offences. The incident was recounted on the official Greater Manchester Police Traffic Twitter account @gmptraffic in a 5.08am post this morning that was accompanied with photographs of the Freelander.

The post read: “This Freelander was sighted on the M60 driving erratically in excess of 100mph by #ME58. When eventually stopped, driver found to be disqualified (x2), no licence or insurance.

“Failed a drug test for cannabis/cocaine & was wanted on warrant! #Arrested @NWmwaypolice. The driver has since been charged and remanded to court on Monday morning for several offences.”
