Love Island’s Catherine defended by Judi Love after Sammy reduces her to tears

Loose Women’s Judi Love took to Twitter tonight to back Love Island contestant Catherine Agbaje in view of her 48,200 followers after she became tearful due to comments made by co-star Sammy Root.

Sammy left both Catherine and her partner Scott van der Sluis fuming by claiming that he didn’t see much of a connection between the pair.

One comment from Sammy that particularly upset Catherine was that Scott didn’t appear to be physically attracted to her.

Both halves of the couple individually confronted Sammy tonight over what he had said, with Catherine even bursting into tears when Sammy doubled down on his comments.

Eventually, Sammy returned later on to apologise for making Catherine cry and said that his words had been poorly phrased.

Taking to social media Judi, who has been following along with ITV’s Love Island this year, stepped in to send Catherine a message of support.

“It’s okay Catherine a lot of us understand what your saying and feeling…” she wrote.

“But just know Queen you are beautiful,” she added with a heart emoji and the hashtag “#ProtectCatherineatallcosts”.

“Every time Catherine speak I’m just like!!” Judi wrote in a tweet earlier tonight, attaching a GIF of woman saying “Yas Queen!!”

Judi also appeared to be tickled by contestant Tyrique Hyde’s antics on the show this evening, after he issued a warning to potential love rival and villa newbie Montel McKenzie.

Montel may have ruffled Tyrique’s feathers after describing Ella Thomas, who is currently coupled up with the semi-professional football player, as “my type”.

In response, Tyrique challenge Montel to “go head to head with him” over Ella, with the implication being that he would win.

Judi wrote: “Tyrique!! I swear this guy!! ‘You don’t want to go head to head with me brother!’” (sic)

Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2.
