Love Island’s Jamie Allen has quit his football club after appearing on the ITV2 dating show.
Jamie, 27, played for Halifax Town and appeared in 24 games for the National League last season.
He scored one goal during the league, and scored nine goals in a total of 89 matches for the club.
His departure from Halifax Town is thought to be a mutual decision, with the club previously sharing their support for the reality TV star.
Just before Jamie entered the villa, Halifax Town tweeted: ‘Jamie Allen has decided to join the cast of Love Island 2022, making his intentions clear that the opportunity is very important to him.’
They added at the time: ‘The matter will be reviewed on his return.’
Jamie was the second sporting star to enter the villa this year, with Jacques O’Neill previously playing rugby for Castleford Tigers.
Despite entering the Majorcan villa late in the game, Jamie still managed to strike lucky on the romance front, now all loved up with Danica Taylor.
He surprised everyone when he went into the villa on 45, along with three other bombshells – Reece Ford, Lacey Edwards and Nathalia Campos.
But, Jamie’s Love Island dream was short lived, as he was sent packing just six days later after he and Danica received the fewest public votes.
Since leaving the show, their relationship seems to have only gone from strength to strength, having been spotted on a number of dates and even doing a magazine photoshoot together.
Jamie’s been pretty quiet on social media since Love Island ended but, in their first interview post-villa, Danica teased that the salon is ‘fully open’ now after a series laden with innuendos about various sexual activities.
The dancer even joked about having ‘cute kids’ with the footie star, so who knows what’s around the corner.
