Love Island fans have demanded that Elon Musk immediately reverse his new Twitter rules before Casa Amor kicks off.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, 52, announced a temporary limit on the number of tweets users can read in a day on Saturday to much backlash.

Unverified accounts can only read 600 posts a day, with new unverified accounts limited to just 300 per day, in a measure purportedly designed to ‘address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.’

Among those bashing Elon’s controversial and unexpected move were Love Island viewers – who now fear that their enjoyment of the show will be ruined by the limits.

They were particularly outraged the measure was introduced ahead of the proper reintroduction of Casa Amor, which will see former islander Molly Marsh return.

‘How are we going to enjoy #loveisland and #bigbrothernaija all stars? Elon you will crumble,’ one fan fumed.

‘Reading limit right before casa amor??? I’m sick,’ another chimed in, while a third raged: ‘Elon Musk is so wicked for doing this during casa period #LoveIsland.’

Many others expressed their anger at the prospect of not being able to watch Love Island with the rest of the nation, with a viewer saying reading ‘unhinged tweets’ was their highlight of the show.
