Lord of the Rings fans, prepare for some major nostalgia!

Stars Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins), Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee), Dominic Monaghan (Merry Brandybuck), and Billy Boyd (Pippin Took) have reunited 20 years after the films were first released and we can’t handle it in the slightest.

Turns out that, after they took the hobbits to Isengard, they took them out for a lovely slap-up meal, with Lost star Dominic sharing the sweetest photo of them dining together.

‘It was another one of those successful smash it out of the park kick it into row Z slap my a**e and call me lucy any of it was recorded none of us would work again…..meal’s. Thank you @jaleobyjose for looking after us. #becurious,’ he wrote on Instagram.

The star went on to give us the shot we needed, editing a photo of the four of them to look like the iconic black and white With The Beatles album cover.

‘How you livin? #myclan #squadgoals #withthebeatles #becurious #hobbits,’ he penned.

Elijah, 41, Dominic, 45, Sean, 51, and Billy, 53, first met more than 20 years ago (feeling old yet?) to film the Lord of the Rings trilogy, with the films being released from 2001 to 2003.

Two decades on, their love for the franchise is still clear, with Dominic previously recalling to Metro.co.uk the surreal experience of ‘Oscar day’ in 2004 when Return of the King picked up 11 wins, including best film.

After going on stage with Peter Jackson and the team to collect that award, Dominic recollected meeting Steven Spielberg straight afterwards.

He explained: ‘We got on stage after we won and Steven Spielberg came over the four of us and he said, “My grandchildren will be so excited I got a chance to meet you” and I remember just thinking, “That is one of the most extraordinary things I’ve ever heard”.

‘I think that encapsulation of the peak of the Oscar ceremony was a really brilliant moment for us all.’
