Lorraine Kelly, 63, was among the millions of people watching Prince Harry’s, 38, long-awaited interview with his friend Tom Bradby, 55. The presenter joined many viewers who were confused by the Duke of Sussex’s voice while he read excerpts from his new memoir, Spare.
As he narrated his description of a row between himself, Prince William and King Charles, Harry could be heard saying: “He grabbed me again, twisting me to maintain eye contact.
“‘Harold, you must listen to me, I just want you to be happy, Harold. I swear, I swear on mummy’s life’.
“He stopped, I stopped, Pa stopped. He had gone there. He had used the secret code, the universal password. Since we were boys those three words were to be used in times of crisis, ‘On mummy’s life’.
“For nearly 25 years we had reserved that soul-crushing vow for times when one of us needed to be heard, to be believed, quickly.”

After the audio recording aired, Lorraine reshared a tweet from journalist Alastair Dalton, who said: “Harry’s slightly clipped intonation while reading extracts from his book on Harry The Interview sounds a little bit like Gordon Ramsay.”
Lorraine then echoed: “A LITTLE bit! I thought it was Chef Ramsay.”
And it turns out Lorraine was not alone in her confusion and plenty of other viewers took to the site to say the same thing.
Columnist Garry Spence asked: “Did Gordon Ramsay do the audiobook for Prince Harry? Or have I just never noticed how alike they sound?”
He was later asked whether he would describe “concerns about Archie’s skin colour” as racist, Harry said: “I wouldn’t, not having lived within that family.”
He also claimed that Prince William and Kate Middleton did not get on with Meghan “from the get-go”.
Harry said the couple were “Suits fans” but there had been “a lot of stereotyping” over her being an “American actress, divorced, biracial”.
