Lopez family’s Rockwell plans major development push outside Manila

MANILA  -The Lopez family’s Rockwell Land Corp., the developer of the upscale Rockwell Center complex in Makati City, announced a major investment program to increase its footprint outside Metro Manila.

The builder outlined plans to develop mixed-use and estate projects spanning nearly 200 hectares in Cebu, Bulacan and Batangas.

Among the projects is the 100-hectare estate in Bulacan, which was described as a “hillside escape and wellness retreat for its future residents”.

Rockwell Land is also planning to build an 85-hectare beach community in Lian, Batangas.

“We are excited about our new vast 85-hectare beach property. It has 700 meters of coastline and clear waters, spread across two natural coves,” Rockwell Land chair and CEO Nestor Padilla said in a statement.

Rockwell Land expects to launch the first phase of residential lots in 2024.

In Cebu, the developer will launch the IPI Center by Rockwell, its third project in the province.

It is a 2.85- hectare mixed use community featuring Rockwell Workspaces and a “unique retail concept”.

“We are looking forward to our newest Cebu project with the Wong and Castillo families of International Pharmaceuticals Inc., which is located in the heart of the city,” Padilla said.

“We’ll first offer residential units through Lincoln, inspired by the well-received Proscenium tower in Makati, and will soon be complemented by a retail area that we envision will excite the market,” he added.

Rockwell Land earlier announced the appointment of Valerie Soliven as president and chief operating officer while Padilla was named chair.

“Padilla and Soliven, both pioneers of Rockwell, are expected to lead the company to double digit growth in the next few years,” the developer said.
