Linda Robson has admitted she feared being axed from Loose Women after a live NSFW blunder.
The Birds of a Feather star doesn’t hold back from what she shares on the panel – from where her daughter was conceived to what she keeps in her underwear drawer.
But one spectacular moment from a live show in 2021 is perhaps the most memorable, when she accidentally broke the ultimate daytime telly rule and dropped an F-bomb.
The 65-year-old didn’t quite realise the cameras were rolling when she uttered ‘f**k’ as she was emerging from behind-the-scenes to explain the latest competition.
Pushing a trolley into the studio from backstage which held the prize money, she began: ‘They’ve left me in charge of the prize, can you believe it?’
Linda continued: ‘This is it. It’s £1million right here in this trolley. It came straight from the ITV bank account this morning.’
But she was having a bit of trouble as she came back to set, and questioned: ‘How the f**k do I look at it?’
Her fellow panellists including Brenda Edwards and Charlene White let out audible screams at the comment, leading her to ask: ‘Are we live on air?!’
Looking back on the chaotic moment, Linda has now admitted she was afraid of getting the axe.
In an interview with the Daily Star, she said: ‘The day that I said the F-word, I thought I was going to lose my job.
‘I really did. I got into trouble over that.
‘It was half-term, so kids were watching. When I got back to the green room, everyone was talking.
‘The producers were okay because I didn’t swear at somebody… I hadn’t said “F*** off, you!”‘
She added that she’s still warned not to swear, but admitted: ‘I do swear when we’re not on air and it’s just me and the audience. They love it when I swear.’At the time, host Charlene stepped in to apologise for Linda.
She exclaimed: ‘Apologies, apologies, I would like to apologise for Linda’s language, she knows she’s done wrong!
‘I think Linda has forgotten we are live on air, Linda would you like to continue and apologise?’
Linda insisted that she wanted to continue after the blip, as co-star Brenda struggled to stop laughing.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1.
