Your Advantage Tennis Academy provides high-level coaching for players of all abilities and standards for group or individual sessions. The academy was created by tennis coaches wanting to share their passion and experience by coaching and helping players to improve and achieve their ambitions in Tennis with advice on technical skills, physical skills, and mental skills to be the best possible player that they can be. The academy offers lessons to ages as young as 3 to any age and also offer Kids Holiday camps all at Merchant Taylor’s school where your child can learn tennis skills by taking part in tennis games and creative activities in a fun environment
We interviewed a Level 3 Qualified 26-year-old coach Nick Jakobsen who started playing tennis at the age of 6 as a hobby but the sport really became his passion when he was 11 and he began to improve and take part in tournaments and competitions. Nick completed his Level 1 Qualification at 19 and his 2nd and 3rd Qualifications at 21 years old. He wanted to become a tennis coach to share his passion and join the newly established Academy from the start so that he could inspire others during the COVID-19 Pandemic to help people learn new skills. When asking Nick what he really enjoyed about the Academy and coaching he stated he loved ‘the multitude of classes ranging from Junior programs to adult cardio tennis’ and how ‘inclusive’ the academy was with all kinds of skill abilities stating the Academy ‘was here for everyone and anyone. Nick had enjoyed sharing his knowledge with all the players he had taught and watching them progress into great Tennis players. In the future, Nick planned to keep his passion for sports and tennis and become a mentor of mental sports well being and sportds psychology
The Academy offers group sessions with category, level, and age groups to cater towards your standard and ability and lesson times can be flexible to accommodate you if you want lessons during the daytime, evenings, or on the weekends and can even be scheduled around work. The academy offers unique sessions such as Ladies Tennis Tuesdays and can be suited to family lessons or any other wishes
Your Advantage tennis Academy also offers Tennis Coach Training Programmes to provide a coach with a detailed knowledge of coaching using face-to-face training, webinars, and online learning. The programs give the perfect foundation to develop a player and their coaching career
Tennis Racket Stringing can also be arranged by the Academy’s Racket technician with over 30 years of experience
