Anne Curtis has put her martial arts skills to the test as she took up Saloc Kayi training to prepare for her upcoming film with Erik Matti.

Curtis shared glimpses of her training sessions with martial artist Rafael Kayanan on Instagram on Sunday, April 30, where they were seen holding their own blades.

Saloc Kayi is a Filipino martial art involving edged weapons which can be traced back to General Licerio Topacio of Cavite, who was said to be a leader of the country’s independence movement, according to U.S.-based mixed martial arts platform Pride.

“Back to the blade [knife emoji] refresher and sayoc sesh with @rafael_kayanan [emojis] @erikmatti,” she wrote, hinting on her comeback film with Matti.

The actress’ sister Jasmine Curtis-Smith, esports player Eric Tai, filmmaker Irene Villamor, and mixed martial artist Brandon Vera showed their support for the “Baler” star in the comments.

The award-winning actress confirmed that she will be reuniting with Matti for her comeback project in February 2023. While details have yet to be disclosed, the latter hinted that the film will be released sometime this year.

Curtis previously worked with the filmmaker in the hit 2018 film “Buy Bust.” EDV
