Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has agreed to join Barcelona on a free transfer this summer, according to reports.

The 31-year-old’s contract will expire at the end of the season and Jurgen Klopp has already confirmed that the forward will be leaving after eight seasons at Anfield.

According to MailOnline, Firmino has now reached an agreement with Barcelona which will see him move to Camp Nou as a free agent.

Barcelona had explored the possibility of signing a forward in January and had considered bringing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back to the club, however, that move was blocked due to La Liga’s player registration rules.

The La Liga leaders are also holding talks over Lionel Messi’s return to Camp Nou, with the Argentine’s contract also due to expire this summer.

Meanwhile, Alisson and Fabinho both insist Firmino’s departure will be a huge loss for Liverpool.

‘Bobby’s a really good friend of ours and someone who has a massive importance on this team. I really wish he could stay,’ Alisson told Sky Sports.

Fabinho added: ‘He is a really lovely guy and everyone around the club likes him.

‘He was really important for me and for Al as well when we both arrived here. He was one of the most important people at the club.’

Firmino is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but Klopp is hopeful that the Brazilian will play again for Liverpool before the season is over.

‘I really, really, really hope so, and I think so as well,’ Klopp said.
