Queensland Reds captain Shannon Parry is playing down her side’s chances of a maiden Super W title ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Fijian Drua in Townsville.
The Reds have made three finals in the tournament’s history but lost all three to the NSW Waratahs.
“For us, we’re happy to to take the underdog tag and just go out there and play some footy tomorrow,” Parry said.
“We’re up against the reigning champions, but we know that if we retain the ball, and retain that pressure, it will go a long way to getting the result we’re after.”
The Drua are the defending champions.
“There’s no doubt that the team who is the most physical will win,” Drua captain Bitala Tawake said.
“Our defence is fully prepared – we’ve worked on refining some communication after last week.
The final will be broadcast on 9GEM and Stan Sport, with kickoff at 4.45pm AEST.
