LIVE: Eels open scoring after controversial non-call
Young Bulldogs utility Khaled Rajab has credited Mitch Moses for helping him prepare for life in the NRL.
Rajan made his first grade debut last week, playing 21 minutes of the Bulldogs narrow loss to the Roosters.
He has been named at 14 for the Eels clash today.
Rajab and Moses first crossed paths late last year in the Lebanon camp ahead of the Rugby League World Cup.
Rajab played alongside Moses after Adam Doueihi was sent off and suspended.
“The first time Mitchell Moses came into camp with us, he took me aside and started breaking down what he would do in a situation and how he plays as a half,” Rajab told NRL.com.
“He just let me learn off him and I was pretty much just learning the whole time.
“Playing at the World Cup with those big name players that played in the NRL like Mitchell Moses, Adam Doueihi and Jacob Kiraz gave me a lot of confidence.
“They pretty much helped me to get where I am now.”
Rajan captained the Bulldogs Jersey Flegg side in 2022. He will line up today against Moses as the Bulldogs take on the Eels at Accor Stadium.
“The Lebanon boys have got a group chat and they were all just saying congratulations and sending me their support. It felt good,” he said of his Cedars teammates when they learned of the news.
“I was just hoping to even get one game, whether it was early in the year or later in the year, so I am extremely grateful.
“I wasn’t expecting it when they told me at first. I just thought I would play NSW Cup and work on my game and then we had a team meeting where they broke the news to me and I was just over the moon to tell my family.”
